This policy covers the SneakerLens informational website at sneakerlens.codeobscura.com. It does not replace any privacy information presented inside the SneakerLens app or by Apple.

The website is operated by ObscuraCode LTD, London, United Kingdom. Questions about this policy or the website can be sent to feedback@codeobscura.com.

Optional analytics stays off unless you choose Allow analytics. The website does not initialize PostHog or send optional usage events while your choice is undecided or declined.

The site uses local storage for one necessary preference: sneakerlens.analytics-consent.v1. Its value is accepted or declined. This lets the site remember your analytics choice between visits. Choosing Decline writes that preference but does not initialize PostHog or send a decline event.

If you allow analytics, the website initializes PostHog and may process:

• the page URL without its query string or fragment, and the page path you visit;
• a controlled guide slug and the guide's search-intent category;
• a controlled App Store call-to-action placement;
• the exact question from a controlled FAQ record when you open it;
• whether a non-empty campaign parameter named utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, or utm_content is present, without retaining its value;
• device, browser, and network information automatically handled by the PostHog web SDK.

The website disables automatic click, pageview, page-leave, exception, and session-replay capture. It also disables PostHog feature flags, surveys, conversations, product tours, web experiments, external dependency loading, and console-log recording. Pageviews and the listed interactions are sent deliberately. The website uses PostHog's identified-only person profiles and does not call identify. A random browser identifier may distinguish activity within the current in-memory browser session, but PostHog identity state is not persisted between page loads.

Before an analytics event leaves the browser, URL-shaped values have query strings and fragments removed. Campaign parameter values and advertising click identifiers are discarded; only the boolean utm_*_present fields described above are retained.

The website analytics implementation does not deliberately send your name, email address, app scan images, sneaker images, free-form user content, or data from website identify calls. The website has no account sign-in or image-upload form.

App data is separate from this website. Following a link to the App Store does not tell this website whether you later install, subscribe to, or use the app.

We use optional analytics to understand which pages and guides are useful, how visitors engage with factual FAQ content, and which controlled App Store links are selected. Website and app analytics can support aggregate trend comparisons, but they do not provide person-level install attribution.

Use Analytics preferences in the website footer at any time. Whenever you decline, the website removes current and legacy PostHog caches, including when analytics was not initialized in the current visit. If analytics was allowed and you then decline, the website may send one final preference-change event before it resets the in-memory anonymous state, opts out of capture, and stops future analytics events. Later page, FAQ, and App Store link activity is not captured while the saved choice is declined.

PostHog provides the optional analytics service. Data retention follows the settings of the configured PostHog project rather than a fixed period stated on this page. Learn more from PostHog's privacy information.
